"Nobody in India was scared of BJP or PM, after election results": Rahul Gandhi addresses Indian diaspora in Dallas
Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, spoke at an Indian diaspora gathering in Dallas, Texas
claiming that after the Lok Sabha election results were released earlier this year, Indians no longer feared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Prime Minister.
Gandhi emphasized the Congress party's belief in India as a collection of ideas
as opposed to the RSS's conception of India as a single thought, and the Constitution's role in protecting variety.
Gandhi added, "The RSS thinks that India is one idea, but we also believe that India is a multiplicity of ideas
and, like the United States, we believe that everyone should be able to contribute.
We believe that everyone should be able to dream.Everyone, regardless of caste, language, religion, custom, or history, deserves to have their own space.
"It's all in the Constitution."He went on to explain that every word he spoke is incorporated in the Constitution, which serves as the foundation for modern India.
He stated that during the election, people plainly saw the BJP's actions as an attack not only on different customs and languages, but also on the Constitution itself.
