When I was younger, I would frequently eat this fruit salad at a festive dining table.
These important occasions include birthday parties, wedding receptions, New Year's Day, harvest festival days, and so on.
While some Korean families continue to make this salad at home, it is less common these days. I do not know why!
So I'm providing the recipe as a personal time capsule item. The Korean name for fruit salad is 과일 샐러드 (gwail saelleodeu), but it's also known as 사라다 (sarada), which is a Japanese term for salad.
It frequently includes cubed apples, persimmons, mandarin oranges, cucumbers, peanuts, hard-boiled quail eggs, and raisins. So it's not just a plain fruit salad!
You may certainly customize the salad's ingredients by adding your favorite fruits, nuts, and proteins. Here are some additional/alternative alternatives.
Try to prepare all of these items in even quantities. If you chop items too small, they can be difficult to grip and consume. I occasionally make that error with cucumbers!
Once the components are prepared, they are combined with creamy mayonnaise.
I tried Kewpie mayonnaise and Heinz original mayonnaise in this recipe, and both worked nicely.
