Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry

To prepare this dish, you will need chicken breast, oil, broccoli, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, oyster sauce, chicken broth, sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

This recipe begins with broccoli and mushrooms sautéed to exquisite perfection in a big skillet, along with garlic and ginger.

After the vegetables have finished cooking, place the chicken in the pan to brown.

The final step is to pour an easy sauce over the chicken and vegetables and allow it to simmer. Add some cooked rice on the side and dinner is ready!

To cook chicken for stir fry, season it with salt and pepper before searing it in oil in a hot pan until browned and cooked through.

Be careful not to overcrowd your pan; adding too much meat at once can cause the chicken to steam rather than brown.

Most stir fry sauces contain soy sauce, garlic, and other ingredients such sesame oil, ginger, rice vinegar, chicken broth, or chili sauce.

Stir fry sauce requires a thickening ingredient, such as cornstarch. A richer sauce will better adhere to your chicken and vegetables.

This dish asks for oyster sauce, a salty Asian sauce that can be bought in the ethnic section of most supermarkets.
