Fans greeted Babar Azam with thunderous cheers ahead of the Champions Cup in Pakistan.

Fans greeted Babar Azam with loud chants as the Pakistan limited-overs captain prepared to compete in the forthcoming Champions Cup, which will be contested at Faisalabad's Iqbal Stadium.

A video went viral showing fans erupting in glee after catching a sight of Babar, who will play for the Stallions.

When Babar waived at them, supporters began screaming 'Babar Babar', expressing their appreciation for the right-handed hitter.

Babar is a member of the team that will be led by Mohammad Haris, who is also the captain of the Pakistan Shaheens.

Babar and the Stallions will open their campaign on Friday, September 13 against the Lions, who will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Given the chants for Babar, Pakistani supporters are anxious for him to play in the Champions Cup.

Babar Azam has had some problems during the previous year and a half.

He was widely condemned when Pakistan failed to advance to the second round of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States.

His batting, particularly in the powerplay, was also called into question.
