Elton John reflects on his road to self-acceptance in a new documentary.

Elton John spoke about stardom, family, and his road to self-acceptance during the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Elton John: Never Too Late.

He emphasized the need of honesty alongside fame, saying: "Fame is a dangerous thing if you don't have something else, 

and that something else is honesty, and if you don't have honesty to go with fame, then you're going to be in real, real trouble, like I was before I got sober in 1990."

It's been 34 years now.John puts his family, especially his partner David Furnish and their two sons, ahead of his renowned music career:

"My life turned around. The most I know about the film is that I have him [Furnish], my two sons, and I'm quite proud of what I've accomplished... 

This is the best sensation I've ever had, even better than having the first Billboard No. 1 album. Yeah, that was pretty wonderful for about five minutes. 

This is for a lifetime... My love for our family, my children, and my friends has never been stronger. And listen, I'm 77 years old and enjoying the best time of my life."

The musician want to be known for his personal life, not simply his professional accomplishments:
